A Very Special Little Wedding

It was a very early, cold and miserable start to Thursday 21 November 2013 when I arrived at the Wedding venue. A small and unique place in the middle of nowhere in Oxfordshire.  I sat in the car park looking out through the drizzle at the fields, farm and a large Red London Bus!

I had reached my destination for the day - The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton.  The venue is truly magical, being an old Sixteenth Century Inn, which has been fantastically transformed into quirky little Hotel and Wedding Venue with an oriental twist. Yet the bare bones of the cozy little Inn have been retained including what was to become during the day a very welcome and toasty log fire in the bar!

I was welcomed by Charlie with a warming cup of coffee and started to prepare for the Wedding of my couple, the very lovely Louise and Justin.  The Wedding was to be a small intimate affair with 31 Day Guests and a further 30 arriving in the evening.  The venue was perfect for this.  The Wedding Ceremony took place in the gorgeous Oak Room, which was to be the centerpiece for the day. Set up began with the overarching Royal Blue theme - Bows on chairs, simple ivory floral arrangements on the tables and a lot of tea lights!

By the time the Bride and Groom and guests arrived the sun was shining and thank fully it had turned into a bright winter's day.

The Bride entered the Ceremony to Canon in D. Louise and Justin made their promises to one another watched by their close family and friends.

Every guest invited to the intimate ceremony wore an ivory rose button hole with diamante pins made by Lucinda The Balloon Lady. A lovely gesture by the Bride & Groom to signify how special each and every one of their guests were.

Cake Sweet Cake provided delicious Cup Cakes and Snowflake Shortbread biscuits for favours. Louise created her own beautiful bouquet from broaches, diamante and pearls.

The Oak Room was then transformed for the Wedding Breakfast. The contrasting white floral table centerpiece and the dark paneled walls and black cloths created a wintery yet cosy setting for the Breakfast.  A huge thank you goes to Atilla, Guy, Jason and all the team at The Crazy Bear for all their hard work and attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble and they were a fantastic team to work with.

The venue took on yet another persona after dark. A dramatic pathway of burning torches greeted the guests when they emerged from their Wedding Breakfast. Guests enjoyed a typically unusual Crazy Bear 3 course meal of Smoked Salmon, Pate and Roast Beef with a trio of puddings to finish.

The already stunning Glass House was simply dressed by the Balloon Lady with high cocktail glass vases, with blue gels and floating candles for the Champagne Reception and Evening Party. The guests danced the night away to music played by Sound Bookings London.

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Bucknell. I have had such fun working with you over the last 12 months to help plan your perfect day and wish you all the best for a fantastic future together!  The official photos will be appearing on the blog soon, taken by superbly talented Faye Cornhill.
