Flowers, Strawberries and a little ray of Sunshine!

Last weekend saw a little ray of sunshine adding to our enjoyment of the fantastic Teddington in Flower organised by The Teddington Society , which allowed us the opportunity to go behind a number of Teddington houses and into the beautiful gardens beyond.  In addition, Vet4Life organised the first ever Teddington Dog Olympics to celebrate the Olympics 2012. The day was a great success, attracting hundreds of people and their four legged friends. A full round up of the event and all the winners can be found here.

On Wednesday I was lucky enough to listen to a fascinating talk by Anna Chalcraft, a Strawberry Hill House volunteer, about the history of the house and its restoration. The talk formed part of this month's Teddington WI meeting, which was once again a hugely well attended evening. If you want to join or come along to one of the meetings just email the team.

I visited Strawberry Hill House earlier this year to see the newly opened rooms and to discuss the possible events that can be held there. I have to say it is one of the most stunning venues in this area and I encourage you to book a visit soon to see for yourselves.  If you are interested in hiring the house for a Private Party, your Wedding or Corporate Event, then please contact me and we can arrange a tour of the property.

We are really looking forward to meeting up with Ice the Cake next week to discuss how we can work together. Ice the Cake offer a fantastic resource for Brides to be as they source and showcase online credible and incredible suppliers for any part of your celebration, be it the Wedding itself or an anniversary or engagement. Ice the Cake also organise a number of Wedding Fairs throughout the year. More details about our partnership will follow shortly, so watch this space!

If you are searching for another event resource for London and the South East, then have a look at London Launch.  It is great for finding suppliers, venues (although you should talk to us at Do Events Limited first!) and for networking online with other event professionals.

Jubilations!

Photo Instagram
So the Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations are over and we can all sit back and relax, with memories of how we celebrated with our family, friends and neighbours.  Teddington was such a busy place over the long bank holiday with a traditional knees up at The Builders Arms; Soirée at St Mary with St Alban's Vicarage Garden; Street Parties in Clarence Road, Bridgeman Road, Teddington Park Road, Springfield Road and Claremont Road to name a few and of course the now infamous Wick Road Party with the painted Jubilee House!

Personally I will always remember  watching Madness perform Our House on the roof of Buckingham Palace, whilst the fantastic projections by Trunk Animation  and Treatment peeled away from the face of the Palace below.  It evoked memories of huge Son et Lumiére light shows and projections I had watched as a child in France.

Events all over the country showed just how much we love to party and celebrate together.

So now on to Olympics 2012!

Teddington will once again come together to celebrate the Olympics in July with a weekend of events planned around the Opening Ceremony on Friday 27 July and the Road Races coming through Teddington on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July.

St Mary with St Alban Church are busy planning a number of events to celebrate the Olympics including their - Opening Ceremony Parish Olympics with fun and games for all the family and an evening screening with food and drink of the Opening Ceremony. More details are now listed on their website

Teddington Business Community continue to plan celebrations for their Olympic Health and Fitness Trail on Sunday 29th July.
